At “Denver Snow Plowing” Everybody may have a different way to check their snow plowing Equipment before and notice on how I used the word before. It’s a good idea to do what is called a
Pre inspection just like you would on a tractor trailer and it’s the best thing to do so you don’t get caught off guard or stuck in the middle of a heavy snow storm.

It’s also a good idea to Lift the hood on your plow truck, as we do here at “Denver snow plowing” and check the engine oil, power steering fluids, windshield washer fluids , and making sure battery connections are tight, this safety check will help you and your crew be thankful for getting yourself to do this before a blizzard moves in and continue to check the belts be sure they are not cracked, or loose, check the coolant level, (with the truck running for at least 20min), check the brake fluid and If low it either means your pads need to be changed, or there is a leak. The fluid went some where but most likely it might be The brake master cylinder. Look around in the motor compartment for any loose wires and make sure your battery cables are tightened and all other loose wires, be sure they are not touching or rubbing anywhere and if so that is a bad thing because something may catch on fire and you don’t need that in the middle of taking care of all your snow plowing contracts. Now close the hood and proceed to the rest of the inspection and pay close attention.

Get in your snow plowing truck and make sure to see that the horn works and the wipers works the heat works and always put the truck in 4wd and drive forward a few feet you should feel the difference of resistance when you turn the wheel and drive forward and he will know when four-wheel-drive is engaged because as you turn in a tight circle you can see or hear the truck skipping, that means you’re in 4WD. Then disengage the 4wd and put the transmission back into park and always do this on even ground never on a hill and make sure you always do this while there snow on the ground and not dry pavement. Check that the parking brake is working and releases, check that the brakes are working to ensure your safety and any pedestrians safety.
